Geology and Mineralization, Cacao project

Mineralisation

Many auriferous quartz veins are clearly epithemal low-sulfidation and quartz-adularia nature. Rougly 100 quartz veins and stringers, occur in the area. Most are mineralized with gold. Widespread brecciation, usually multi-generational, principally lithic andesitic tuff-breccia from the underlying unit where veins are hosted in massive andesite.

Dips are usually 70 degrees and more. Crustified veins with open drusy-covered vugs are common. The massive andesite unit overlying the lithic tuff may have asted as a seal, and could conceal mushroom-shaped or Christmas Tree-shaped stockwork zones within the more porous depth (less than 100 m).

Native gold, visible with a hand lens or occasionally to the naked eye, may occur perched on drusy quarthz, especially near the bands of former sulfide minerals.

Base-metals sulfides, or cast of former sulfides, Precious metals present as native gold in vugs, and electrum and native silver seen under the microscope from well under 1% of the vein content.

The epithemal system shows evidence of vigorous boiling, as evidenced by: quartz encrustations and preudomophs of probable original bladed calcite; clasts exhibiting multiple generations of brecciation alternating with quartz and sulfide incrustations; and occurence of lithic tuff fragments in veins several tens of meters above their normal statrigraphic position. Boiling of hydrothermal fluids is generally considered a key mechanism for the precipitation of bonanza-type gold-silver mineralization.

Gold potential exist at Cacao for the delineation of medium to high grade shoots of gold-silver mineralization. It´s possible that Cacao could become a highly productive district, based on several or numerous bonanza-type high-grade gold-silver shoots, while a larger, lower-grade, bulk tonnage resource could exist in the lithic tuff at relatively shallow depths.
 
 
 

 

Epithermal System

The epithermal system shows evidence of vigorous boiling, as evidenced by: quartz encrustations and pseudomophs of probable original bladed calcite, clasts exhibiting, multiple generations of brecciation, alternating with quartz and sulfide incrustations, and occurrence of lithic tuff fragments, in veins several lens of meters above their normal stratigraphic position.

Boiling of hydrothermal fluids is generally considered a key mechanism for the precipitation of bonanza-type gold – silver mineralization.
